Black Fashion @ Alexander McQueen Launch

Yesterday was the Alexander McQueen launch in New York city. This was a very stylish event and there were many stars in attendance. Eve, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Joy Brant all looked very chic. Janet Jackson wore an ombre kimono style dress. I like the colors of the dress but overall the look is off. Also her breast appear to be in the shape of pointed cones, a la Madonna back in the day.

Black Fashion @ MET Gala "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy"

Yesterday was one of the most fabulous fashion events of the year, "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum. This was a star studded event, and the majority of those who attended looked elegant, sophisticated, and of course chic.

Andre 3000 looking dapper, however the straw hat could have been left at home.

Janet Jackson was a vision in this white dress. Her man, Jermaine Durpri looked very sleek in his all black suit.

Still on the fence with this geometric print dress on Joy Bryant. It looks uncomfortable and very restrictive.

Kimora Lee Simmons looked very colorful in this dress. This silhouette looks great on her body. Djimon Hounsou looks very sharp.

Thandie Newton was working it in this short black lace mini. I like the look, however I think she should of worn something a little more formal to this event. 

Janet and Zoe's Glaad Style

It was a star studded event last night at the Glaad Awards. Janet Jackson and Zoe Saldana were some of the celebs that attended the event. Janet wore Ralph Lauren, however I am not really feelin' her outfit. I think the wide leg pants were too big on her, and I really don't like when you can't see the shoes someone is wearing. Zoe looked stylish in her all white dress. There were not fireworks with her look, but she was fashionable none the less.

A Fashion Don't: Hammer Pants

I love Janet, and her new album is so hot but these pants are not. Yesterday Janet's new album, Discipline debuted, and she attended an autograph signing in this outfit. Everything from the waist up is cute, but I don't know what she was thinking with the pants. Hammer pants are never going to be in style again. Caution please don't try and imitate this look on the street.

Here is the cover of Janet's new album, Discipline. What do you think of the cover shot? I am on the fence with this look. Her body looks great, and I love the gloves. The shredded top is the only thing I am not completely feelin'.

The Original Bad Girl

It looks like Janet wants a shot at showing all the bad girls (Rihanna) how its really done. Janet looks great in these shots, however I for one am a little tired of the dominatrix chic look. It seems like lately everyone in the music industry has been pulling out the black stripper boots, and pleather corsets. Where is the originality? Anyways regardless of this reappearing trend, Janet's body looks great. I also love the short bob on her, because it is more age appropriate and natural looking. There already a lot of buzz around Janet's new album, which is expected to hit stores in February. I hope that this new one is a better success than her last one. 

Janet Is Still Nasty

Here is a new promo shot of Ms. Jackson, for her upcoming album. Now I will say Janet looks great for her age, but those pants I am not feelin'. It makes me think of a Las Vegas showgirl revue or something. I do wish Janet could move away from bra tops, I feel like we have seen this look so many times before.
